Hello, everyone Viva Leather Vegas is just around the corner July 22 – 25!!!! IDL 2010 is an exciting event -- workshops, parties, contest... and hey, VEGAS? Need I say more? Not only that, the International Deaf Expo is July 18-23 -- if you're getting to Las Vegas a bit early, you can take advantage of opportunity to see friends at the Expo. I'm personally looking forward to this event. i've never been to Vegas, so am very glad for the opportunity to be there! Registration for the weekend's events will be at the host hotel, Alexis Park Resort Hotel, starting Thursday evening! We'll have a welcome party as well. On Friday, we'll have two workshops, plus other fun activities. Then the meet and greet party will be at the Buffalo bar. Saturday, another workshop, a pool party and more fun activities ... all the way until, the CONTEST!!!! We are really excited about this contest. Hey, interested in competing? It's not to late to submit your application -- We are looking for competitors for: International Mr. Deaf Leather 2010 We have a WONDERFUL judging panel this year -- Terry Morrell, International Deaf Leather 2009; boy taz, International Deaf Leatherboy 2008-2009; Jeffrey Payne, International Mr. Leather 2009; Lamalani, International Ms. Leather 2009; Andrea McMillan and our alternate judge is Alex Lindsay, American Leatherman 2009. We will accept applications until Friday night, at the meet and greet party. No later than that. If you have questions about the contest, feel free to contact the committee to get more information. With all the fun and games going on, I don't want the members of International Deaf Leather to forget... we DO have our annual meeting on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. We have a lot on our agenda -- we have a whole new set of bylaws to vote on. We are also expecting a bid for the 2012 contest -- we'll need to evaluate that. All that on top of our regular business reports and motions. So, just to be sure, we reserved a room at the hotel to hold the meeting -- we hope to have it all complete in three hours or less. If you all behave yourselves, we can do this quickly and seamlessly. So says the boy! :-) We're looking forward to seeing you! On bended knee, boy alex |
