International Deaf Leather - Uniting Communities Since 1991
International Deaf Leather is dedicated to bringing together the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and hearing leather communities. We believe in creating spaces where everyone can connect, share experiences, and learn from one another. Our mission goes beyond just organizing events - we are building a network of support, friendship, and mutual understanding that spans across the country and around the world.
We recognize that Deaf individuals have unique experiences within the leather community. Communication barriers, cultural differences, and accessibility issues have historically created gaps between Deaf and hearing leather enthusiasts. IDL works tirelessly to bridge these gaps, ensuring that Deaf culture is celebrated and that Deaf individuals have full access to everything the leather community has to offer.
1. Communication & Education
We establish and maintain national and worldwide communication networks. Our goal is to share information, provide education, and create support systems for everyone in the Leather, SM, Fetish, and Kinky communities.
2. Safe, Sane, and Consensual Expression
We endorse with power and pride the right of all adults to engage in safe, sane, and consensual sexual expression. Personal freedom and responsibility are at the heart of everything we do.
3. Inclusivity Across All Identities
We enhance communication and knowledge among women, men, transgender individuals, and intersex persons within the Leather, SM, and Fetish communities. Everyone belongs here.
4. Community Support & Fundraising
We facilitate fundraising for deserving projects, clubs, organizations, legal defense funds, and charities that provide direct service to the Leather, SM, and Fetish communities.
5. Preserving Our History
We preserve a record of our history, traditions, and culture within the Leather, SM, and Fetish communities. Our stories matter, and we make sure they are told.
